WINFIELD REC COUNCIL MEETING
April 23, 2001

Jean Shea called mtg
to order. The minutes from the 03/26/01
mtg were accepted by the board.
Treasurer: (1) $9665.00 in account
(2) Need $2.00 registration fee from Baseball and Softball
(3) Soccer owes for BG&E bill.
(4) Money donated in Pat Molloy’s name will be used for a scoreboard @ Mayeski -- $1300.00 Joann and Fran Schmitz are working on.
Jean Shea: (1) Easter Egg Hunt went well – about 100 kids
Secretary: (1) Questioned what schools are registration flyers delivered to: Mt. Airy
Middle and Elementary, Winfield, Linton Springs, Oklahoma, NC Middle
and South Carroll. For some reason not to Sykesville.
Bill Shaefer: (1) April 16 had a Lombardy Trophy Dinner @ Wilhelm for fund-raiser for
alternatives program/scholarship fund. 277 people attended. Several
Baltimore Ravens were there to sign autographs.
(2) Self help project money due February, 2002
(3) Should know my end of May of new middle school site
(4) County looking into blanket policy to cover all rec equipment, bleachers, goals etc @ RC. Need to get list from all programs
(5) Century to open in fall – not sure how many grades.
Soccer: (1) Doing a 50/50 raffle w/ drawing on 5/30 tickets have reg. dates on them
(2) Wants to put soccer field in outer field at Linton
(3) Several goals were damaged by vandals – submitted insurance claim as damage was over $500.00 Bob will get of welder from Bill Schaefer to see if they can be repaired.
(4) Problem @ Linton with people parking on grass. Bob will post signs during soccer games/practices. Bill S will look into having NO PARKING signs posted.
Karate: (1) Carl needs to get w/ Patty for summer schedule
Square Dance: (1) Sam needs to get w/ Patty for summer schedule
(2) Westminster Square Dance will be joining the Winfield Program
Basketball: (1) Pizza Party w/ trophies went well. There was some concern regarding 5/6
grader teams that no all teams received trophies. Only 1st 5 teams placed.
Jean said next year grades 1-6 will all receive a trophy.
